Youth Day – April 29
Youth day is Winters’ great annual celebration. It’s a big weekend highlighted by the Youth Day Parade, which starts with the Kiddie Parade at 9:30 am on Saturday and then the main parade at 10. Events also include the Rubber Ducky Race in Putah Creek on Friday evening, and the Rotary Pancake Breakfast Saturday morning at the Community Center.
We love kids in Winters and this is a day when the community comes out in full force to celebrate the youth of Winters. Founded in 1933 by Reverend Charles P. Barkman and High School Principal, Dr. A.M.Herron to teach young people the aspects of city government, students to this day continue to be elected by their peers to government positions and meet with their counterparts at City Hall. All are then honored in the annual Youth Day Parade and with a day full of fun. For more information contact Kathy Cowan at (530) 795-9090.
Always the last Saturday in April, with a parade down Main Street, followed by park events at City Park and at Rotary Park that include music, vendors, food, wine tasting, olive oil tasting, crafts and more.
