Discover Winters (Winters Chamber of Commerce) serves the Winters business community and its members throughout the surrounding area. Comprised of a governing board of 12 volunteers and an Executive Director, our group aims to collaborate with local government to support economic development, activate the presence of our businesses through Visit Yolo (Yolo County Visitors Bureau, build strong relationships with our schools and non-profit organizations, emphasize marketing tools and techniques via social media and local publications and deliver events to the community to celebrate Winters.
Winters is located 35 miles west of Sacramento at the start of Highway 128, nestled below the Berryessa Mountain region. Founded in 1875, it claimed a special place in California’s history as the Sacramento Valley’s commercial center for agriculture and passenger rail service. Over the years, Winters has retained its original historic and rural charm, offering visitors a glimpse of the past while enjoying a variety of modern amenities. The Historic District of Winters captures history, with many architectural treasures now occupied by restaurants, wineries, specialty shops and an opera house which overlooks Main Street.
Visitors can enjoy a walk across the newly rebuilt historic railroad bridge located near the Community Center or stroll down the Putah Creek Nature Park walking path to capture the local beauty of California poppies and native lupine, and several species of butterflies and birds.
Winters is the perfect way to start your adventure to the Napa Valley and Mendocino Coast. At the start of California Highway 128, visitors can enjoy the charm of the town and invest in agricultural tours, farm to fork eateries, wine taste or listen to live music and gather at our brewery, Berryessa Brewing Company. The community is known for celebration, as we offer a variety of events that capture the essence of our town. Fourth Friday’s (April-October) feature live music, a farm table down the center of Main Street and local vendors which offer bites, beverages and quaint shopping for all. The famous Tractor Parade (first Saturday of December) has become a mainstay, as families gather to see farmers light up their farming equipment in style!
