Winters Youth Day: Youth Around the World
Winters Youth Day was founded in 1933 by Reverend Charles P. Barkman and Dr. A.M. Herron (high school principal) to teach young people about the aspects of city government.
Each year the young people of Winters take over the elected offices of the city. After a week of hands-on experience with their city counterparts, everyone is honored with the annual Youth Day Parade and a day full of fun.
Despite being canceled due to World War II and COVID-19, the Youth Day tradition has always returned strong and proud.
Youth Day takes place in Winters, California (click for map) every year on the last Saturday of April. It’s a celebration for youth of all ages. Please join us for a day of fun!

Songs In Solidarity
Songs In Solidarity is a benefit concert to raise funds and awareness for those impacted by the LA wildfires. The event features three local bands - The Big Poppies; the Putah Creek Crawdads; and Island Crew. There will also be local beers and wine available. Donations of $30 are welcome for each ticket. Net proceeds to California Community Foundation to support those who have lost homes and jobs due to the January fires. All contributions are tax deductible. Wine 101 Series - Zinfandel
Join us to learn about the storied history of this very “California” variety at our second Wine 101 Series session. We will be joined by Carole Meredith, retired Professor of Viticultural and Enology at the University of Califorina, Davis. Carole’s research determined the genetic heritage of this and other well-known grape varieties. We will taste several vintages of Berryessa Gap Vineyards Zinfandel along with a few other special wines. Local nuts will also be shared and paired with the wines. Tickets are $29.
