Fall flavors and colors all around town.
There’s nothing like fall foliage in Northern California, and in a small farm town surrounded by hundreds of acres of orchards, you’ll feel like you’re in a Hallmark movie. There’s something about this season that brings the locals out to play. In the Fall you’ll see downtown Winters decorated with pumpkins from local farms, and cornstalks and haystacks that were foraged from a neighboring farm.
Although the foliage is nice, the Fall flavors is what’s it’s all about in Winters! Local restaurants like Putah Creek Cafe serve pumpkin pancakes and fall salads featuring seasonal fruits and veggies. Preserve also offers seasonal specials as they experiment with different dishes that are all sourced locally.
In the Fall, locals like to take walks in the Putah Creek Nature Park right in the heart of Winters. You can cross the Trestle Bridge and enjoy hundreds of colorful trees from above. Walk down and take a walk by the creek and take a seat on the piano bench as you watch the water gently flow. If you want a more rigorous hike, try the Blue Ridge Loop in Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve.
