The world traveling band Dirty Cello is back from a wild performance tour of Bali and Singapore and ready to rock the Winter’s Opera House for a New Year’s Eve show of rock, blues and a whole lot of fun.
“We want to create a New Year’s Eve party that’s fun and reasonably priced,” says group leader and cellist Rebecca Roudman, “so many events that night cost too much and go really late.” The event at Winter’s Opera House has tickets priced at $35 and runs from 8:00-10:00 pm. The concert will be casual and have both seats and a dance floor.
This will be the band’s first time back at the Winter’s Opera House under the new management of the Winter’s Theatre Company. The band’s last show there was in 2019. Since then the Dirty Cello band has been performing all over the world with trips to Iceland, the Middle East and all across the United States. At the New Year’s Eve show the band will perform as a 4 piece ensemble featuring vocals, a rhythm section and of course a rocking cello.
Good Times Santa Cruz has described Dirty Cello as "The band plays every style imaginable, and does some fantastic covers. (Their rendition of “Purple Haze” is incredible.) But what is most spectacular about them is hearing the depth of soul in Roudman’s playing—it goes beyond what most people would expect from the instrument. She plays it with so much heart, you’ll wonder why more bands don’t have a cellist." Good Times Santa Cruz
